Maternity Leave Updates We would like to share some staffing updates with parents and carers regarding upcoming maternity leaves. Mrs Jones will begin her maternity leave on 1 June. For the remainder of this summer term, the school will be accessing support assistant cover through a supply agency to ensure both classes continue to receive consistent support. At the same time, a recruitment process is underway to secure longer-term cover for the new academic year until Mrs Jones returns. Mrs Williams, Class 1 teacher, will begin her maternity leave in July 2026. To support a smooth transition and maintain consistency for learners for these three weeks, Mrs Munro will provide cover for the remaining days of this summer term. We are also pleased to share that, following our recruitment process, Mrs Eyres will be joining the Llanfechain team to teach in Class 1 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays until Mrs Williams returns in the new year. Mrs Eyres is an experienced Foundation Phase teacher and is familiar with small school settings within Powys. She will work closely alongside Mrs Moseley, who will continue teaching Class 1 on Thursdays and Fridays, and Mrs Griffiths, our Support Assistant, helping to provide continuity, stability and familiar routines for pupils throughout this period. Further information regarding opportunities for parents and carers to meet Mrs Eyres during the summer term will be shared in June. We wish both Mrs Jones and Mrs Williams a happy and healthy maternity leave, and warmly welcome Mrs Eyres to our school community.
