Morning All,
We hope you’re coping, and able to enjoy, this heat!
Many thanks for your understanding and support this week. A special thank you to our Friends and Summer Concert organisers for their support in changing the date.
It’s hard to believe we have reached the final week of this academic year, please find below information about the final week.
Monday 13^th – Summer Concert. Food served from 5pm. Entertainment from 6pm. Tuesday 14^th – Celebration Evening. A presentation celebrating the last school year including a special tribute to our year six leavers. Thursday 16^th – Leavers Service. 9:30am at St. Garmon’s Church, Llanfechain. Friday 17^th – Last day of term. Non-school uniform day.

Summer26: Important Update – School Concert

Important Update – School Concert Due to the forecast extreme heat, we have made the decision to postpone the school concert scheduled for Friday 10 July. The concert has been rescheduled to Monday 13 July at 6.00 pm and will take place on the Llanfechain C.I.W. School grounds. We appreciate that this may cause some inconvenience, but the wellbeing of our pupils, families and staff must come first. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to seeing you on Monday 13 July at 6.00 pm for what promises to be a wonderful evening of celebration.

Summer26: School Closure

8/7/26 Dear Parents and Carers, Due to the forecast extreme temperatures of up to 31°C on Thursday and 33°C on Friday, we have made the decision to close the school at 1.00 pm on Thursday 9 July and Friday 10 July. During last week’s hot weather, classroom temperatures became extremely uncomfortable, particularly during the afternoon. As we have no air conditioning to help reduce indoor temperatures, we believe this is the most appropriate decision to safeguard the wellbeing of our pupils and staff. School will be open as normal each morning, with all pupils to be collected at 1.00 pm on both days. Please note that After-School Club will not be available on Thursday or Friday. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and support. We wanted to provide families with as much notice as possible to make any necessary arrangements. Summer26: Dates

Important Dates: Friday 10th July – Summer Concert Tuesday 14th July – Celebration Evening Thursday 16th July – 9:30am – Leavers Service at St. Garmon’s Church, Llanfechain. 10th July – Summer Concert Entertainment starting at 6pm but food and drinks will be served from 5pm, organised by our Friend volunteers including Tuck Shop. More information will be released in the week. Children are expected to come, if possible, we have been practicing lots for the performances! We hold the event in school grounds, all being well on Friday it will be in the orchard as the weather is forecast to be dry and warm. Families are welcome to bring their own seating, or picnic blankets to sit on but school chairs will be available. All are welcome to attend, including community members, future and past families. It’s always a wonderful school event that celebrates our wonderful community school. 14th July – Celebration Evening After school on Tuesday 14th we will also be having our Celebration Evening which will begin at 4pm. A chance to join together to look back at the year and pay a special tribute to year 6. Lots of lovely photos and memories of the past year to enjoy! The presentation should take no longer than 45 minutes and will be held in the school all. All are welcome to join us! 16th July – Leavers Service Starting at 9:30am in St. Garmon’s Church, Llanfechain, a special service for our Leavers, their families and wider school family. All are welcome! We join together to listen to our year six leavers memories, reflect on their time with us and wish them well for their next step.

Summer26: PE Swap

Please note – PE will be swapping days this week. Therefore years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will have PE tomorrow Tuesday 30^th and reception, year 1 and year 2 will have PE on Wednesday.

Summer26: Welsh Afternoon

We hope you’re all doing well in this heat!
This Friday, 26^th June, we will be holding a Welsh afternoon led by our Criw Cymraeg and Mrs Andrews our Welsh officer from the authority. It will be an afternoon filled with activities showing the different ways we learn Welsh in school.
It will be an open afternoon and all are welcome to drop by anytime between 1:30om and the end of the school day.
